The City Glide compares very favorably w/ two other 200mm wheel scooters we have - Pulse Road Rager & Razor A5. The City Glide and Road Rager both cost around $50; the Razor A5 cost approx $75. There are pros and cons to each, but the City Glide is my overall favorite.
I have been riding it about 2 mi. daily on recently paved asphalt roads for about 3 months now (older, rougher asphalt is just too rough to ride on) and so far no problems to report. The ride is smooth, and the riding position is comfortable. It feels more stable than the others mainly because the handle grips are spaced farther apart than the others. (The Razor's handlebar is the worst.) The platform is a bit on the narrow side at 4", but it is wide enough once you become proficient at switching feet while riding. The ride is smooth, but it does make a little more rattling noise than the others. It is also larger and heavier then the others, so if you want something portable to take onto the bus or train, the smaller & lighter Razor A5 and Pulse Road Rager might be the better choice.
So to summarize, the positive points of the City Glide are:
1. 14" wide handlebar gives stable steering feel (compared to 12" for the Razor A5 and 13" for the Pulse Road Rager)
2. approx 29" wheelbase (compared to 26" for the Razor A5 and Pulse Road Rager) which gives it a smoother, more stable ride.
3. handle bar post can be raised high, w/ 3 height settings (Razor A5 has only 1, Road Rager has 2)
4. fender brake is not as good as well designed as the Razor's but it is removable/replaceable should it ever break (Road Rager's brake is non-serviceable)
5. affordable price (around $50) - good value for the money
The negative points of the City Glide are:
1. size/weight - not as portable. Weighs just under 10 lbs (Razor A5 and Pulse Road Rager are under 8.5 lbs)
2. front folding mechanism has an adjustment screw which allows you to tighten up the slack and reduce the rattle. But the tighter you adjust it, the more difficult it becomes to fold the scooter.
3. platform is only 4" wide (the others are 1/2" wider)
