M-Wave Child's Wooden Running Bike (Tiger) Review

M-Wave Child's Wooden Running Bike (Tiger)
Average Reviews:

This is a cute little bike. We have friends who bought it for their kids and love it. We bought if for our two year old for Christmas and he is barely tall enough, but will be by summer. It was easy to assemble and is sturdy and well made....Except for the tires. The tires do not inflate with a standard bike nozzle, you will have to purchase a special one at a bike shop. That wasn't a big deal and the front one inflated with no problem. The rear tire did not work, so we went back to the bike shop and bought a new inner tube for it (which comes with a standard nozzle). This was a five dollar purchase, but although my husband had replaced inner tubes before, it was very labor intensive to get the tire on and off and we almost took it to the bike shop to have them do it. Now it is a great bike. I think for the price it was worth the hassle, but since the other reviews had the same problem, it may be a typical one instead of a rare case.

Bell Trigger Youth Bike Helmet Review

Bell Trigger Youth Bike Helmet
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this helmet for my 3 year old. He likes it, it seems to fit well, seems to adjust fairly easily, received good reviews from Consumer Reports. The only thing I don't like about it is the chin straps seem to twist a little bit between the ears and chin. My son hasn't complained about this being uncomfortable, but it looks like it might possibly be. I can't see any way to straighten them out all the way from ears to chin, it's just the way they are attached to the helmet. Generally though, I am very happy with it.
Oh, another thing, in the photo, the helmet looks almost red, white, and blue. It's really dark gray and black. I think the photo doesn't show this actual helmet but the design (style and stars) are the same.

Giro Flume Youth Bike Helmet Review

Giro Flume Youth Bike Helmet
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought a Giro Flume Youth helmet for my 3-year-old son (now almost 5; helmet fit is still comfortable and safe), in the red flame pattern. My husband is a somewhat serious mountain biker, who wanted a very safe helmet for our child; and my son is a very sensitive little guy (he hates crooked sock seams, grit on his skin, hats, etc.). I myself wanted something my little guy thought looked cool but that didn't have superheroes or advertising on it :) This helmet made everybody happy. Of course it is mandatory that our child wear it for biking; but the requirement hasn't been onerous, my son is happy to wear it on his cycle and often leaves it on for fun. The fit is adjustable, and (unlike some other helmets we've seen) is very comfortable even when snug enough to be safe and not to slip around. I highly recommend it and am back to buy a second to have on hand for visiting kids.

Bought one 3 months ago, it has had multiple problems! Finally just wouldn't work at all. So I contacted them (hey it was within the 3 month warranty) they didn't get back to me (after much nagging) for a month. Finally did and had me ship it to them (at my cost $[...]), then said it was my fault it broke (even though it had problems from the start). Then held it for ransom basically and were going to charge me [...] bucks to fix it!! These guys may have some zealot users out there trying to convince everyone the scooter is awesome - but believe me its not and the company is horrible!

This product is great for children to expel some extra energy while gaining some trunk support, arm strenght, and leg strength (and coordination). My kids LOVE it! They use it in the house on the pergo floor and outside on the sidewalk. You can use it lying down on your tummy, sitting on it and walking with your feet, or take turns pushing each other! It is fun, easy, and inexpensive!

Giro Rift Bike Helmet Review

Giro Rift Bike Helmet
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Figure I'd give this helmet a try due to the light weight and very adequate venting. The design and dial in fit for the back is standard design for bicycle helmets in this price range.
HOWEVER for anyone with large heads (>60cm) be warned that this helmet will not fit you!! I have a large head which is 60.5cm, and the helmet even with the loosest dial setting in the back barely fit my head and it looked like a mushroom on top of that. The description says "universal fit", which is incorrect. Had to return it. And went with another VERY POPULAR 4 letter brand (brand sold here on Amazon and has an even bigger name in the Bike accessory industry since the invention of the telephone by the inventor Alexander Graham....) which I know has a "universal fit" that truly does have settings for even the largest heads.
BTW - I normally take a size XL with motorcycle helmets

The Giro Rift bike helmet is an ideal choice for riders who want cool comfort and rugged good looks without breaking the bank. The helmet is made using Giro's in-mold construction, which fuses the helmet's outer shell with an impact-absorbing EPS liner. Not only does this reinforce both layers, but the "exoskeleton" also allows Giro to engineer helmets that are lighter, more durable, and better ventilated. The helmet also employs Giro's patented Acu Dial fit system, which hugs the back of your head and reduces the tendency of your helmet to shift forwards or backwards. Unlike most system, the Acu Dial's design provides adjustable tension independent of the helmet straps. This means you don't have to overtighten the straps to enjoy a snug, comfortable fit. The bike's premium features conclude with a whopping 24 cooling events, keeping you well ventilated on both short and long rides.

I bought this bike for my son who has ADD since he would have difficulty paying attention and riding at the same time. It is working out very well and I would recommend it. He loves to ride it and now he can go riding with the whole family. Keep in mind that it does not have gears so it will not go as fast as a standard bike which I find to be a plus. Remember to tighten all screws, even on parts that are pre-assembled, after riding as this is not entirely welded but rather bolted together.

Barbie Ride with Me Barbie Bicycle (16-inch) Review

Barbie Ride with Me Barbie Bicycle (16-inch)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Ok, so I want to make it very clear that I am not reviewing shipping. The box came pristine. No dents, tears, or other marks of rough treatment. The way the bike lays in the box during shipping is fine, the fork is laid flat so I can't figure a way being crushed during shipping could be at play.
So the kids have gone to bed, mom is taking the presents out of the closet to place under the tree. Meanwhile I begin the seemingly easy task of assembling this bike. It's really simple. Put on the seat, the handlebars, and the front tire. Buuuuut there's a huge problem: the front fork of the bike is pinched. It's about an INCH too narrow to allow the connection of that front tire. Living in an apartment with no access to a machine shop I have no tools or equipment to bend this thing back into position, especially at 10pm. It's a total show stopper for this gift.
Everything about the bike seems to be of decent build quality. It has a few more things to put together than the other kids bikes I've assembled.
I'll update this review if the replacement bike is so stellar that it overrides the failed xmas morning. My advice is to open this thing up as soon as you get it and assemble it to make sure it's going to go smoothly for you. If its not you'll need time to order and receive a replacement.

Sweetskinz Freestyle Reflective Bicycle Tire (20-Inch)
Average Reviews:

Initially saw these when shopping for replacement "street tires" and decided to purchase. Free shipping was also an enticement! Majority of the use on the BMX type bike has been on the street of this and the neighboring cul-de-sac. Threadwear has not been noticeable and there have been positive comments about the visibility of the tires and rider during the day. The bike frame itself is of an orange/yellow color so also may contribute to being highly visible. I cannot comment on the nighttime quality as the bike is not allowed out after dusk. Both tires were R & R as a DIY by myself and balancing was not required.

Kettler Rear Bicycle Basket Review

Kettler Rear Bicycle Basket
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Kettler Rear Bicycle Basket has some problems. Primarily, the spot welds wear out over time. After 3 months of daily use (mostly groceries, about 5-10 Lbs), the welds which connect the bottom brackets to the basket itself simply wore out--the brackets are the lower handles shown in the picture provided by Amazon. Now, there is no way to attach the basket to my bicycle rack. I believe the bumps and vibrations of my daily ride slowly weakened these welds to the point that they detached. The basket had other problems as well (over uneven pavement, it would occasionally fly off and tumble into the street), but the poor welding is what ultimately rendered the basket totally unworkable.
I would not recommend this basket.

Go Glider 16-Inch Balance Training Bike (Large) Review

Go Glider 16-Inch Balance Training Bike (Large)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I researched available balance bikes and decided that the Mini Glider is the best for my son. He loves it and couldn't be happier. Here's what sets the Mini Glider apart from the other choices:
- Super lightweight. Shipping weight is 6 pounds. Compare to the 14 pound Kettler Sprint. The lighter, the easier for a young child to manipulate. Watch my son mount, turn around, dismount, and even lift his Mini Glider with ease.
- Foot pegs for ease of riding and transition to a pedal bike. Most brands have no foot rest for training foot position. The Glider Rider Bike has a 10-inch footplate, but my son's shoes are already 9 inches long. His big feet fit on the Mini Glider's foot pegs with no trouble.
- Hand brake. Some others leave this out, saying that the child shouldn't go faster than his feet can stop him. My son figured out how to use the brake on his own. It is helpful to him when stopping at the bottom of a hill. At the end of the video, just before the last notes of the music, you can hear the "Shhh" of the brake as he brings the glider to a safe stop.
- Solid, no-pump tires. With a vehicle this lightweight, you don't need the hassle of airing up tiny tires. These tires are sturdy and give plenty of traction.
- Seat easily adjusts with the turn of one bolt.
- Minimal assembly required. Simply insert the handle bars, tighten with the included tool, adjust the seat, and go.
- Excellent customer service from the manufacturer. I had a question, and when I called the # in the instruction manual I spoke to a real person immediately.
My son is a tall (44-inch) 4 1/2 year old. Not particularly athletic or graceful, it took him until the age of 4 to learn to pedal a tricycle. When he became interested in bicycles, I got him the Mini Glider. At first, he straddled the seat and waddled with the glider. He soon progressed to walking, running, one-foot-pumping, and coasting with his feet up. The video shows his amazing progress from his second day of riding the glider through 2 1/2 weeks of learning. He loves showing off his skills to everyone, and he wants to go riding every day.
Edit: The new model now offered for sale has a quick-release seat clamp. No tool is needed to adjust the seat. They have also made the handlebars adjustable, for an even more customizable fit. Excellent!

Giro Transfer Sport Bike Helmet Review

Giro Transfer Sport Bike Helmet
Average Reviews:

This is a very comfortable helmet with a nice fit. Most of the helmets you'll find in this price range don't fit well. Believe me, I've tried a number of them. But this one fits me great.
One small piece of advice: It has a more rounded appearance from the front than most bike helmets do. So if you don't like the thought of a "round" look when someone's looking at you straight on, this might not be the helmet for you.

Click Here to see more reviews about: Giro Transfer Sport Bike Helmet

The Giro Transfer Sport Bike Helmet is constructed with in-mold technology that fuses a tough outer microshell to the helmet's EPS foam liner. The fusion process reinforces areas around vents and ribs, making the helmet lighter, cooler and tougher. The Transfer utilizes Giro's Acu Dial system, which combines single-handed adjustment with a full-fit band for a quick, sure fit. This Giro helmet features a snap-fit visor, and 20 vents that allow cool, fresh air in and stale, warm air out.
The Transfer sport helmet comes in Giro's Universal Fit Adult U size (54-61cm), carefully sculpted and size-specific to simplify the fitting process. Giro's Transfer helmet is a lightweight 255 grams, and complies with U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's safety standards for bicycle helmets.
