I like the protection they provide when she takes a tumble. I looked at many sets of helmet & elbow/knee pads before I bought anything and I think these are one of the best around. I am very satisfied with them and my daughter doesn't give me a hard time about wearing them.

(More customer reviews)This is an excellent helmet and it works too. I gave it a crash test last month when I was hit by a car (I was doing 25 mph) and hit my head hard on the asphalt. The helmet didn't break or crack and I didn't suffer any type of head injuries. I was so impressed, I replaced it with the same model. The fit is great and I wore it on a 200 mile one day ride without any discomfort. It isn't a cheap helmet, but what kind of price do you put on your life?
The Garmin color isn't bad either.

The Ionos is the most technologically advanced road cycling helmet Giro has ever created. Instead of just a skateboard, this combo set came with the helmet, elbow pads, hand/wrist pads and knee pads. He put on all of the gear and off he went. He loves it. He said on his birthday, "This is the BEST present ever!" Even my 19 year old son was very impressed at the quality of not only the skateboard, but of the helmet and pads. Skateboarding might be a little dangerous, but at least the protective gear will keep him safer. And we could NOT beat the price. Had we bought the skateboard and protective gear separately, it probably would have cost 3 or 4 times the price. I was very happy we made the purchase through Amazon. I took a HUGE spill off my bike this past weekend.....a sweet superman over the bars and the first thing to hit the rocks was this helmet. I put a nice dent in the outside, cracked the helmet all the way through, but I got up and walked away with not even a headache. The helmet is finished, but my head is totally intact so I can ride another day. It did exactly what it was designed to do. Plus, if you break your helmet under normal use, Giro will kick you down 30% off of a new one. Not a bad deal when it saves your head!

(More customer reviews)i searched toddler helmets and this came up. the description does not specify age, so i figured it was a toddler sized helmet since... well.. that's what i searched for! i opened the box and the package said for ages "5+". considering my daughter isn't even 2 yet- this is obviously not even close. this is not a toddler helmet at all. it would be huge on her. there are straps inside that adjust but the shell is just too big. it would look ridiculous on her. i am returning this. amazon, please make sure you have better descriptions!!!
if your daughter is older i am sure she will love this, however. it is very cute.

Disney Princess Hardshell Bicycle Helmet and Protective Pad Value Pack (Child) Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this helmet for my nearly 5 year old daughter a few days ago, as she had outgrown her toddler helmet. She picked this one out of all the princess designs they had (and they had a few).
The helmet is made of a plastic shell surrounding a 7/8" densely packed wall of Styrofoam. It is not typical packing material type Styrofoam which we can break off and peel into little balls of plastic. It is packed rock solid and would be uncomfortable if not for the fact that there are strips of a softer foam inside to cushion the child's head. The foam strips are secured by dots of Velcro hooks, so that they can be repositioned if necessary. There are no adjustments to be made for head size. If you need a helmet that has those adjustments, look elsewhere.
The straps are made of soft nylon. They are easily adjustable. They fit comfortably and are not stiffer than any other helmet we own.
The package does read "knee or elbow pads" and it only comes with one set of pads. We didn't buy this for the pads, since we have so many already; but someone buying this as a set be warned. My daughter has a full set of princess knee and elbow pads from her skate set, and the pads provided with the helmet are the size of those knee pads. Of course, there is nothing wrong with using them as elbow pads, just wanted to give an idea of the size of those pads.
My daughter has two helmets to choose from and she always chooses this one. It's a nice helmet.
UPDATE:
My daughter is 5 1/2 now and the helmet fits better now than it did just half a year ago. I do wish this helmet has adjustments for the head, but it only comes with the required chin straps. Other than that, this helmet works fine and looks great. My daughter still loves it.

Overall, the helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads are well designed and attractive. It's a great choice for parents and young children who are fans of Sesame Street.
There's one drawback on the knee pads and elbow pads. Although they have a sturdy construction, they will tend to pill at the elastic after normal use.

(More customer reviews)I bought the youth pro pad set (for ages 8 to 14) to accompany a ripstick my 10 year old son received for Christmas. Overall, the pads are great. They are sturdy and will protect your child when or if they fall.
However, my son is skinny, therefore, he swims in these pads. The elbow pads, if worn as elbow pads, cover his whole arm and they look extremely huge on his small body. Therefore, the elbow pads fit better as knee pads. The knee pads will also work for his knees, so I guess he got two sets of knee pads for Christmas.
I gave the pad set three stars because I feel they could have been more specific in the description of the product, however, they are very protective of my sons knees.

He hasn't worn them much, yet the stitching is coming out of the guards and will be unusable before long. They don't stay on well either. Would not purchase again. I'm researching a good quality elbow/knee guard set to purchase for him now. Spend the extra money and get a good set.
