FreshPark Professional BMX and Skateboarding Launch / Kicker Ramp Review

FreshPark Professional BMX and Skateboarding Launch / Kicker Ramp
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Was not sure what to get my 14 year old for his birthday; he had expressed interest in a plastic 50 dollar skateboard ramp at a local sports store but it just appeared to be a bigger version of the cheap 30 dollar ramp that fell apart last year. I investigated this item and decided to go for quality in spite of the cost. I do not regret this. He has basic to moderate skateboarding skills and is intimidated at the thought of skating with the older boys (pros) at the local skatepark. Since he started playing on this item his skills have improved dramatically and his friends love it as well. The previous reviews had indicated that it is very noisy. That is correct , but before I know it he will be gone and I will long for the noise....

Ten-Eighty Straight Grind Rail Review

Ten-Eighty Straight Grind Rail
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This grind rail isn't too bad. It's easy to assemble and disassemble which makes it highly portable. Its probably not the most sturdy rail on the market, but its sturdy enough. It can be raised or lowered to 3 different heights which is pretty cool. I think the legs may have holes in them if you want to secure it down to something. I compared the reviews of this rail to many others before purchasing, and this seemed like the best option to me.

Valet My Stick Review

Valet My Stick
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've been looking for something like this for almost a year now, A lock that I could trust to lock my Longboard up when I'm going to the beach. There's nothing worse for skating then sandy bearings and bushings.
I'd checked board shops, surf shops, Outdoor stores, even hardware stores for anything I could trust to keep my board safe, but the regular bike cables never did the trick.
This little wonder shackles right around one of the trucks, no bulky loose cable to wrangle off around the board.
I was really impressed with the size, its big enough to stand up to abuse and keep whatever your locking up safe, but coils small enough to fit in my back pocket.
Its great for using on campus too, locks the board up anytime I can't take it inside somewhere with me.
The product description wasn't lying about it being multipurpose either, I use it for my skateboard, but it works on snowboard bindings and locking luggage up too.
I'm very happy with the product, definitely gonna tell any of my friends who board about it.

Spider-Man 28-Inch Skateboard, Helmet, and Protective Pad Combo Pack (Colors May Vary) Review

Spider-Man 28-Inch Skateboard, Helmet, and Protective Pad Combo Pack (Colors May Vary)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After 6 months of my 5 year old son asking for a skateboard, my husband and I decided to get him one for his 6th birthday. Instead of just a skateboard, this combo set came with the helmet, elbow pads, hand/wrist pads and knee pads. He put on all of the gear and off he went. He loves it. He said on his birthday, "This is the BEST present ever!" Even my 19 year old son was very impressed at the quality of not only the skateboard, but of the helmet and pads. Skateboarding might be a little dangerous, but at least the protective gear will keep him safer. And we could NOT beat the price. Had we bought the skateboard and protective gear separately, it probably would have cost 3 or 4 times the price. I was very happy we made the purchase through Amazon. A few other vendors wanted [...]more for the same thing.

FreshPark Professional BMX and Skateboarding Quarter Pipe Review

FreshPark Professional BMX and Skateboarding Quarter Pipe
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
In my lifetime, I have probably built about 14 halfpipes and at least 25 quarterpipes. The problem is that I live in Ohio and the weather ruins them every year. I prefer a quarterpipe because it is not too obtrusive and you have more time to prepare for tricks. One of the biggest challenges of making a good quarterpipe is getting the bottom sheet to lie flat on the riding surface...especially after a few rainfalls has warped the wood!
I was hesistant to buy this ramp because I had never physically seen it. I had watched videos and read some reviews, but the reviews did not really give mouch specific info...hopefully, this one will!
The ramp is a 9 foot radius and is a bit under 3 feet high. Although this sounds kind of weak, it actually is a fun ramp. The curve is deceptive. If you look at each panel, they almost look flat, but when you ride it, you get a nice lift. Its not vertical, but you can do airs. The transisition gets you to about 65-70 degrees and the coping is excellent. It is metal and fairly burly. Lip tricks are very fun on this ramp. The material of the ramp is an ABS type plastic...it will not rot. I leave my ramp out in the rain. No issues at all on the ramp, although there is some rust on the coping...I may need to paint it, but if you grind daily, it takes care of it.
I am a big skater...I am 6'1" and over 220lbs. This ramp holds me with ease. It has never slid and I can drop it, do rock n rolls, 50/50s and ollies. The ramp does give a bit on landing, but has not changed its original form. The top deck is rather small, but it can support 500 lbs and allows for lap over grinds. The bottom of the ramp is a formed piece of metal which allows for a smooth start to the ramp...I love that. The ramps seems a bit abrupt at first, but you get use to it.
So...here are the pluses and minuses!PLUS
- Can be easily taken down and folded away in winter...or set up in basement!
- The riding surface is fast and smooth.
- You can link more than 1 ramp together...fairly seamlessly.
- Metal support is top notch and all connections are welded on. So much nicer than wood transitions with screws!
- The surface to ramp piece is excellent...very smooth.
- It loks professional. I live in a nice neighborhood. I peeled off the FRESHPARK logo and it looks a lot less obtrusive from the road.
MINUS
- expensive. I bought 2...
- not very wide. One unit is only 4 feet wide. I bought two and hooked them together to form an 8 foot wide ramp. When I just rode the 4 footer, it was not so fun...not a lot of room. Adding the second ramp made it a who new experience..more room and rock solid. Also, when I ride just 1 ramp, there is some sliding of the ramp. My kids can do it without any issue, but I'm a tad bigger. When linked together, no issues..
- the wheels it rolls on are complete garbage. I cannot believe how they skimped on this. I will be looking to replace them. They are plastic and have no bearings...will not take any abuse. For $400 a piece, you think they would give you quality wheels.
- The ramp is loud. As much as I love the bottom piece of metal that allows for a smooth transition, it can make a LOUD clanging noise after repeated rides. I don't really mind it, but I am not sure if my neighbors are thrilled by it!
- Heavy. This is good and bad. It is very solid, which is awesome, but when it is folded up and on its wheels, it is very heavy..150lbs (?) It tips easier than it should. If a child had this fall on him, it would not be good. Unlikeley, but I had it tilt a few times as I moved it. I was strong enough to correct it, but a kid could have problems.
- Potential theft. I think they should provide a bar that you can attach and lock so that nobody can fold it up and take it from your driveway. I have to bolted together with 3 major bolts, so a theif would have to work to get it...but if you only have a 4 footer and leave it outside, it would take minutes to steal.
I love the ramp. I looked for a LONG time for a ramp that would allow me to skate whenever I wanted, but would not require me to rebuild every year. A good quarterpipe costs about $200 to make. You have to relaminate every year and paint etc... This was by far the best solution once I rationalized I would skate it for many years. Those plastic ramps are total garbage...I never even considered them.
I hope that answers any questions about the ramp. Bottom line is that it costs a lot of money, but it is the best value if you want this type of ramp.

Foldable, portable, and remarkably easy to store, the FreshPark professional quarter pipe is a must for skaters who don't have easy access to a nearby skate park. Part of the comprehensive FreshPark skating system, the quarter pipe consists of a sloped main platform, a pair of 33-inch tall legs, and a narrow top platform with seamless 10-gauge steel coping welded into place for smooth grinding.
By itself, you can use the quarter pipe for jumps or tricks, but the product's versatility really stands out when attached to other quarter pipes, which connect either side-by-side or back-to-back. Once the pipes are connected, skaters can go as wide as they want, grind across the top edging, or use the pipe for launching. The quarter pipe also connects to FreshPark's other skating products, including a flat launch ramp, a manual pad, and a kicker ramp. Combine them all and you have an unbeatable, portable skate/bike course that sets up virtually anywhere--in a large driveway, on a suburban street, or in an empty parking lot.
The quarter pipe is covered with a weatherproof urethane/ABS riding surface that's maintenance-free, with no painting or treatment required. And unlike wood, the surface won't splinter, rot, warp, or expand with moisture. And thanks to the 10-gauge cold-rolled steel tubing legs and adjustable leg supports, you needn't worry about the pipe collapsing after a particularly challenging trick. Perhaps most significantly, however, the quarter pipe folds into a compact triangle when you're done skating and comes with detachable wheels, so you can easily store it in a corner of the garage or virtually anywhere else. The pipe, which measures 47 by 33 by 10 inches (W x H x D) at its maximum height and weighs 157 pounds, supports up to 500 pounds and is backed by a 90-day limited warranty.

Just got the bike and it looks ok. BUT the Seat, Seat post and Peddles are missing.
I'm not going threw the hassle of returning the thing, that was probably there plan all

that you can't get things complete anymore. You do get what you pay for with this bike.

RipStik "G" Grind Caster Board Review

RipStik G Grind Caster Board
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a great buy for anybody. I saw my friend riding a wave board and he let me try it when I inquired what it was. It was a lot of fun and very addicting. He told me that if i bought one to get a waveboard because the waveboard was better that the ripstik because it had a smoother ride and it was better built. I went to Walmart and was looking at the wave boards and I saw the ripstick G. It looked a lot cooler so I bought it. To tell you the truth, this is the coolest board out there. I love this board and ride it everyday.

The only reason to buy this over a ripstick is if you are going to "grind", which is going on a rail. It is also better built and has a smoother ride than most other boards. If your going to buy it, buy it on Amazon. It's cheaper than anywhere else and it also gets you free shipping.

Best described as a cross between a skateboard and a snowboard, the Ripstik caster board is distinguished by its pivoting deck and 360-degree inclined caster trucks, which offers a snowboard-like carving ability. Like the original Ripstik, the "G" moves you forward with a simple weight transfer that lets you turn or accelerate without pushing--just like when you're carving down the slopes.
The board offers such features as spiked traction pads, a kick tail and nose, and a concave deck design, which combine to improve your foot control--a must for tricks. And thanks to the 76mm polyurethane wheels and precision ABEC-5 bearing casters, skaters will enjoy a smooth ride on almost any type of pavement. Designed for children 8 years and up, the Ripstik's plastic end platforms and metal torsion beam support up to 220 pounds.

Razor RipStik Ripster Review

Razor RipStik Ripster

While trying to decide between the original Ripstick and the Wave for my 12 yr. old son, I found the "newer" Ripster. I read reviews of how these were lighter weight and you could do tricks more easily. Of course, that caught my attention and I'm glad I purchased this one. This has been one of his favorite and most used Christmas gifts. He was able to take off after the first few tries and was really good after a day or two. His older brother, 17, also picked it up quickly and uses it frequently. I recently heard a friend comment on how much lighter this was than the original Ripstick. I am thoroughly pleased with my purchase (although I see they are now cheaper than when I bought) and would highly recommend this.

Razor Punk Ramp Review

Razor Punk Ramp
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Simple ramp, my son is 8 and thinks it is a lot of fun. However, it has to be secured to the ground or it slides all over. We didn't want to drill holes in our driveway, so I found some tent stakes and secured it into the grass at the side of the sidewalk. This way my son can skate or scooter along the sidewalk, up the ramp and land in the grass - much softer landing. I think it is going to take some practice before he actually can get where he can to the trick stage. I do see some potential hazards, so make sure safety equipment is in place for those kids not too experienced with ramps, probably not the safest toy, but a good starter ramp if used with supervision.

The Razor Punk Ramp is just the accessory you need to practice your tricks before heading to the skate park. The ramp features a super-high-impact polypropylene surface with an upturned "kicker" radius that launches BMX bikes, skateboards, scooters, radio-controlled cars, and more. The ramp's textured surface, meanwhile, offers serious traction, so you needn't worry about slipping while approaching the lip. And the ramp can work either by itself or in conjunction with the Razor Park Rail (sold separately), meaning you can set up a virtual skate park almost anywhere, including a paved backyard or an empty parking lot. Best of all, the ramp, which supports up to 220 pounds, is easy to anchor, store, and carry. Designed for kids 8 years and older, the Punk Ramp measures 25 by 7 by 12 inches (W x H x D) and is backed by a 30-day warranty.

Razor Punk Park Ramp And Rail Combo Set Review

Razor Punk Park Ramp And Rail Combo Set
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is kinda cool for the kid whose working on skateboard and bike tricks, but it's pretty small and requires bolting down to something much more immovable so it doesn't scoot away when the bike/board hits it.
We can't bolt it down to any concrete around here so going to look for a large, used piece of plywood and see if that works.
It's neat but consider how you'll make it immovable before buying.

The Razor Punk Rail and Punk Ramp combo set provides everything you need to practice your tricks before heading to the skate park. The Razor Punk Rail is a square-shaped mini rail that stands only 7 inches tall, letting you perfect your slides and grinds in the safety of your own driveway. The rail is also notably durable thanks to its tough welded steel construction and powder-coated paint, which enable smooth grinding. And skaters aren't restricted to short slides, as the Punk Rail is designed to attach to other Punk Rails, creating a nearly infinite length if desired. The 25-by-7-by-12-inch (W x H x D) Razor Punk Ramp, meanwhile, offers a super-high-impact polypropylene surface that launches BMX bikes, skateboards, scooters, radio-controlled cars, and more. Combine it with the Punk Rail and you can set up a virtual skate park almost anywhere, including a paved backyard or an empty parking lot.

Razor Pro Pad Set - Choose Size Review

Razor Pro Pad Set - Choose Size
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought the youth pro pad set (for ages 8 to 14) to accompany a ripstick my 10 year old son received for Christmas. Overall, the pads are great. They are sturdy and will protect your child when or if they fall.
However, my son is skinny, therefore, he swims in these pads. The elbow pads, if worn as elbow pads, cover his whole arm and they look extremely huge on his small body. Therefore, the elbow pads fit better as knee pads. The knee pads will also work for his knees, so I guess he got two sets of knee pads for Christmas.
I gave the pad set three stars because I feel they could have been more specific in the description of the product, however, they are very protective of my sons knees.
