Xootr Swift Folding Bicycle - Blue Review

Xootr Swift Folding Bicycle - Blue
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought my Xootr Swift two years ago, and it's been a very fun, fast, useful ride since.
First, the weaknesses:
It's a big bulky fold. Think Smoothhound squashed in half--or twice the size of a folded Strida. It's an elegant, fast fold (6 seconds for me)--but it's not small.
It's rigid. No energy is lost from the rider to the road. On the crappy SF streets (ahem, Mr Newsom), you can really feel every bump. That being said, it's much smoother a ride than a Dahon TT pro, and it's cheaper.
Now, it's strengths:
It's a great ride. It's very similar to a Bike Friday Pocket Rocket in ride, but much cheaper.
It's light (mine's 22 lbs, heavier than stock). It accelerates great. A gentleman named Jur has made his bike under 18 lbs.
It uses standard parts, and it's almost infinitely customizeable (can't be made a recumbent). You can put almost anything on it, from BMX parts, to weight weenie roadie gear, to old Suntour shifters.
It begs to have drop bars. In the stock configuration, I've dropped roadies and followed messengers (albeit for a short period of time) wearing business casual, a murse, and some loafers.
It folds pretty darn conveniently narrow. It's big, which is bad for MUNI, but it's easy to slip between things when you're storing it at home.
Lastly, it's the most elegant locking system that I've seen in a folder. The dynamic joint acts as a static system when it's in place, and is braced against the seatpost in one unit.
All in all, this is a great bike if you have decent roads.
If your roads suck, you may consider a Birdy or a Pacific Reach.

While a great product, do not pay this price. Any Segway dealer can get it for you for about 1K less.

Play side by side with your foursome instead of splitting up into two carts with the Segway x2 Golf, your solution to effortless maneuverability on the course. The x2 Golf is equipped with deeply treated, turf-friendly tires that let you travel on the grass and off the cart path for a faster game. As a result, you can zip from the tee to the sand dunes to the green in no time. It even includes a higher ground clearance than the original Segway, helping it handle steep hills, uneven trails, and errant rocks. If you're a golfer, you'll love it. If you're not a golfer, you'll want to go along for the ride.
As with the traditional Segway, the rider controls the x2 Golf by leaning slightly in any direction. To move forward or backward, lean slightly forward or back. To turn left or right, simply move the LeanSteer frame left or right. You get the same sense of power and speed as riding in a vehicle, but you also feel safe and absolutely in control. Best of all, the x2 Golf can take you places that a car or bicycle can't, including inside many stores, office buildings, businesses, airports, and trains.
The x2 Golf is also equipped with a couple of golf-specific accessories to enhance your golfing experience. The golf bag carrier attachment, for example, secures your golf bag to the x2, yet still allows for easy dismount and club access while playing. In addition, the x2 includes a scorecard holder that keeps your scorecard, golf balls, and tees readily accessible. And as a final bonus, the x2 Golf puts you well above the greens, giving you a terrific perspective on the various breaks and dips. So do away with clunky carts and get mobile on the course with the Segway x2 Golf.
Specifications:
Tires: 8 inches wide
Max speed: 12.5 miles per hour
Range: Up to 14 miles or 36 holes
Footprint: 21 by 33 inches

X-Treme Scooters XB-600 Elite Electric Bicycle Review

X-Treme Scooters XB-600 Elite Electric Bicycle

I bought this for my 3 mile commute. This was a terrific solution, but took some effort to make it ready for the road.
The quality that went into building the scooter was less than optimal. A lot of the bolts were not tight, the pedals holes did not align with the post the pedals attach to and the gear on the rear wheel was not screwed onto the wheel. These were all items I easily corrected and I was off on my ride. It was a nice ride, the shocks actually work. Turn signals and lights work, but I keep hitting the horn button with my knee! Hehehe. The speedometer does not measure the speed, but rather calculates it and does that poorly. The only real disappointment was with the power of the engine, it took a really long time to get up to speed and this can be an issue in traffic, I can't get out of the way of vehicles especially starting up at intersections. The simple solution for me was to add a 5th battery. After investing $75 for a battery and $75 for a bigger charger, I mounting the new battery under the seat and now it has good pick-up and has a faster top speed. The range is good, I charge every 2 or 3 days and the charger stores easily in under the seat.
This is not a perfect product out of the box, but I couldn't live without it now. My new relaxation technique is a cross-town ride on Saturday afternoons on my scooter.

X-Treme Scooters XB-700LI Lithium Powered Electric Bicycle Review

This has been a great purchase for my 14 year old of course my husband and I enjoy it too. I expected a little whine like the little kid power wheels but this bike is very quiet. The only issue we have had with the bike was when we got the bike the charger was set wrong so the bike didn't charge. We contacted x-treme and they helped us over the phone. This has been a great value. If you have a child who can't drive yet but has places to be this is great for them or if you like the feeling of a scooter but not the cost this electric bike does the trick. We estimate this bike to go 35-40 miles on a charge if you don't use the headlights. We are not sure how far with the headlights. We believe they do drain the battery a little faster but we haven't check the distance using the headlights the whole time. My family loves this bike. Why didn't they make cool stuff like this when I was a kid? I am so jealous of my daughter.

X-Treme Scooters XB-502 Electric Bicycle Review

I will write another review after appx 3-4 months of use. For me, however, this is a perfect. I am a 64 year old man with serious heart disease. I need regular exercise, but have to stop if I feel my heart stressing too much. The X-Treme Electric Bicycle XB-502 allows me that flexibility. I can pedal or turn on the electric drive and cruise. A perfect fit also was the low price which allowed me to buy it for cash. Also perfect is I need no drivers license, do not have to register it, or insure it. I can ride it on bicycle paths just like a regular bike, or on the street where allowed.
