You can attach it to your bike in such a way so it will wrap around itself and the seat and not need an additional lock. The diagram is on the planet bike plastic tag attached to the cable when you receive it. I live in the city and I hate the thought of coming out to get my bike and the seat is gone. This is cheap insurance against that happening.
