(More customer reviews)I bought this bike for my 7-year old daughter as a Christmas Present. I have to say that it looked absolutely fabulous when assembled. It even came with touch-up paint in the two colors just incase there were any transportation dings (there was not). I added a flower basket to the handlebars, some streamers to the handles, and some heavy duty training wheels to complete the picture. Everyone who saw the bike remarked how perfect it looked (almost like PeeWee's bike). I am giving it 4-stars instead of 5 only because the assembly instructions that came with the bike are somewhat difficult. I am a senior engineer and very mechanically inclined and had a little difficulty assembling things in the right order to prevent myself from not having to remove and replace parts again and again. In all the assembly took about 2-hours. The manual does not refer specifically to this model but rather models that are both bigger and smaller than this one in different sections of the manual - so the assembler must figure out on their own how to interpolate and complete some of the steps from each of the various sections. Not hard - but a little more time consuming that I was expecting. I can definitely see how someone who is not handy with tools might take the whole box to a bike shop and pay for them to assemble the bike.

Nirve B 1 Cruiser 1 speed Men's Tempest Bicycle (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this bike for my wife for her birthday and she loves it. It features high quality construction, a great paint job, and a very nice ride. A couple things to note however:
First, the powder blue color that is featured in the photo and the description is not what I received. The bike that was delivered is navy blue (this is more a criticism of Amazon than the bike). Fortunately, my wife still loves it.
Second, the assembly process was not as straightforward as I was expecting. The bike comes with much of the bike assembled, but you do have to spend some time putting on the handlebars, the fenders, the seat, and the front-brake. The instructions were insufficient, leaving out important steps and causing me to have to undo steps and redo them as I figured out the proper way to put the bike together. That said, I was able to get through it, and it turned out to be a rewarding, though time-consuming, process.
A couple tips to help you avoid making the same mistakes I did: 1) be sure to fasten the rear reflector before tightening down the fender. 2) be sure to attach the front fender before rigging the front brake. These are probably obvious if you've worked much with bikes, but as I said, the instructions are vague.
All in all, and now that it's put together, I'm very satisfied. By the way, this was for the single-speed bike. I'm not sure how much additional assembly would be necessary for the three-speed version.

(More customer reviews)It was just what I expected of a US$160 bike with no aluminum frame. It took me less than 10 minutes to assemble. So many people admire my bike... inlcuding me of course! It's such a great looking bike for that money and with great geometry. I'm 6'1" and I feel pretty comfortable although I usually don't ride for more than one hour.
The breaks did require a bit further tweaking but still deserves 5 stars.

(More customer reviews)This bike is not cheap. It's not cheap like a Mercedes isn't cheap. It's not cheap like a Lexus isn't cheap. It's not cheap because they have taken the time and used the materials necessary to build a bike that is going to make a lasting impression on every kid who rides it and every kid who sees it driving by.
Basically this bike is wonderful. It has spring suspension, an LED light and steel framing and materials. The gears and such seem strong and reliable. The paint looks (and feels) to be all powdercoating and real chroming (though it could be stainless steel). The main attraction is, of course, the styling and it looks as good in person as it seems to look on Amazon. I'm not sure if eventually replacing the white tires when they eventually wear down might be an issue, but that's about the only negative thing I could see about it.

I live in the Iowa farm fields and there are no Nirve dealers around for 100's of miles so I looked on line knowing I wanted an awesome cruiser and found the Nirve Company and really liked their vibe. I took a chance and ordered it without ever test-riding it; well the verdict is I LOVE it. It is everything I dreamed of and more. The graphics are super high quality, they are NOT just cheap stickers or decals, and they are gorgeous this bike is a true piece of functional art (my favorite kind of art!). I was really impressed with the bike design and craftsmanship as well. There is nothing cheap about this bike at all. Its the real deal. Be prepared to have a LOT of fun riding this piece of artwork around town or wherever life takes you! (PS you don't have to live at the beach to enjoy a beach cruiser - but it'd be nice!)
Oh and the single gear is a perfect gear for a cruiser, you can go as slow or as fast as you want, and I can even go up a few hills without standing up, or getting off to walk.
My Husband assembled it for me, but I think anyone with decent wrench skills and some stick-to-it-tivenss could put it together just fine.

(More customer reviews)I really like this bike. My friends have compared it to riding an arm chair it's so comfortable. Here is everything that is wrong or has gone wrong with it:
-two of the bolts to attach the seat were missing. $5 to replace
-a tube went flat immediately. $5 to replace
-the rear derailleur up and broke. $35 to replace
Despite this, it was still worth the money and when the bike is working, I like it a lot. A lot of strangers admire it.

(More customer reviews)In my opinion, this scooter is overly expensive. It should be around $50 since an original scooter only costs about $25 at my local store. It also should be cheaper since you need to buy spark cartridges every few months. The cost value of this item is almost $200. Since every two months, the spark cartridge is empty and you need to buy a new one or then it will become a regular scooter. The design is very nice. I like how easy it is to fold it or adjust the height of the scooter. The safety is excellent since it does not slip when it is raining and it is kind of hard to get yourself on fire with this thing. This comes in pink or blue. The noise of the scooter is very low compared to other scooters I have had before. It almost is like a Toyota Prius. Taking everything into consideration, I would recommend this product since your kid will enjoy it and it is very safe and easy to use.

X-Treme Scooters Kids Electric Scooter Review

(More customer reviews)We got this scooter for our 5 yo daughter for Christmas, now its September and we are throwing it out. I will say it was used a lot. Riders: ALWAYS wear a helmet!
The Good:
- charge. This thing runs a long time. Very impressed with that aspect of it. Nice charger with lights (although they were backwards from what was said in the manual.)
- Variable throttle.
- Light weight.
- Moves even my 200 lbs at a good speed.
The Bad:
- The wheels suck - hard wheels. DO NOT GET A SCOOTER WITH HARD WHEELS. It really sucks trying to get over any sort of rough terrain, even rough asphalt. Get inflated tires. Also, when we adjusted the brakes to give sufficient stopping power, you easily wear off part of the wheel and then its no longer round. You can hear the scooter go "thump - thump" a mile away and it jiggles the rider because of the worn out wheel. Got another for $16 from them, but a) its a BEAR to install and b) it wore out the first day. Note this was due to the brakes failing and then you're stuck with either you have too much braking or not enough due to the worn out brake parts. Not willing to spend the $ to repair/replace.
- The construction is not quality. All welds have broken. I was lucky to have a iron fence guy at our house and he re-tack welded.
- The control unit has now failed. Won't charge at all.
- Brakes stopped working very soon. Its a steel band that tightens on a drum. Found it to be super touchy. If adjusted too much, you wear out the tire as described, or you don't get much braking.
- only 90 day warranty. I'm done with this scooter, going in the trash (after we recycle the battery).
So, we got our $100 out of it, but we were hoping for a longer life. Now looking at other brands.

Downside- The platic handle retainer (designed to hold the handle grips when packed for storage)broke during the first day, quite loose where the scooter pivots for storage.
Bottom line- My 4 year old enjoys it more than expected, he reminds me to watch out for the light ribbon produced by the rear wheels a la Tron light cycle.

Huffy Cars Sprint Scooter - Red (10") Review

(More customer reviews)This scooter was a pain in the neck to assemble (the instructions only had diagrams and no words). If you don't know how to wire up brakes, get help from someone who does - maybe take it to a bike shop. Other than that, it's a good scooter. My 42" tall 5 yr old rides it fine. The platform measures ~14" in length to let you know and the handlebar height is adjustable. I like the bigger wheels for dealing with the cobblestone brick and landscape rocks on the sidewalks in our area. I like the handbreak as it will be the same on a bike.

Using it as a kick scooter is not too comfortable due to how high off ground you are.

Action Wheels Folding Scooter Review

(More customer reviews)I ordered 2 of the exact same thing and both were supposed to be Black, one came as Pink. Both were selected from the Pre-Teen Boys 9-12 age group gift ideas but these were for 5+ year olds and are WAY too small for a 9 year old. These were for a Give a Wish charity and by the time we got them it was too late to donate. They needed much better quality assurance to catch both issues.
